Hi,

I am Planning on taking a course in Taxidermy next summer and am begining to purchase my own specimens. My question is I had thought about mounting a Kudu or blackbuck Shoulder Mount During Class and was wondering what the average price is for a set of Kudu Horns, Kudu Cape, and Blackbuck Horns and Cape. Just trying to find out so I can make a budget for my specimens. I have been watching ebay and the For Sale Page here but these items don't come up for sale very often( I have never seen a Kudu Cape). I'm just looking for ballpark figures. Also what is the average price for Aoudad? I'm not talking Monster peices just average size. I want to have as wide of variety as possible for class. These would all be for my personal collection and showroom.

Thanks

Shelby

There is a co., who's name I can't remember Coral something, that sells horns on ebay all the time and the kudus were pretty resonable. I'd try ebay for most of what you want. Look for smaller specimens, they cost less. Hope it helps

That's who Greg is referring to and they do not sell raw capes. They do sell the horns though. They are on eBay all the time, something like 1000+ listings every day.
Most African capes are tanned either before they get here to the USA or right after. You may have a hard time finding untanned stuff.
