I ordered a Noonkester boar form and it has the outer nose detail molded in. Do you mount the skin over that or do you remove it proceed as if you are using and artificial nose? Anyone that has used these forms, please fell free to share any tips or suggestions. Thanks!

I THINK it was intended to serve as it's own artificial nose, but since I'd never use an artificial one to begin with, I get rid of it. I took a rasp and then sandpaper to get it back to a workable contour.
If it were me, I would cut it off and use the artificial nose. It's amazing how good they look and how little finishing there is. Once you use one I think you will feel the same way.
In our shop we use a repro nose on all boar mounts,it's faster and easier to get a good looking nose.If it is a comp.piece you almost have to use a repro, almost impossible to get the inner nostril details right if you try to sculpt them by hand
