mold on mount

I mounted an axis deer about a week ago. Yesterday I noticed that inside the ears and around the eyes there was what appeared to be mold. I knocked it off around the eyes but couldn't do much with the ears. I know it is from moisture but not sure what to do with it. I set it outside yesterday and probably will do the same when I get in this afternoon. I have never had this before. Any one know of a solution other than getting it outside?

I have heard that washing the moldy area with dawn soap and some water, and then blow drying it on no heat, will clean the mold and it might even prevent it from re-appearing. good luck

This is why I always put a fan on my mounts for at least the first few days. It drying them out fast and prevents mold and rot.
