tips for mounting longhorn steer shoulder mount

My wife accidentally posted this in lifesize mounts, but it is a shoulder mount. Got horns to break loose & have it fleshed. Is it just like mounting a deer, but a lot larger or is there something different that needs to be done in the tanning process?

Cow leather is NOTHING like deer leather. It stretch only one way and that's usually the wrong way. The forms never fit and you stand as good a chance of winning the Irish Sweepstakes as you do of getting by without some type of form alteration. Make sure that you have the hide wet tanned and I'd strongly advise you to have it done professionally.
