Stop Rot update

A while back I wrote that I used stop rot on a W/T wet tanned cape that I left on the bench for 8 hours and wanted to prevent slip on the muzzle\inner ear area so I applied and refroze it. I was sopposed to get back to Glen as to the results but forgot. Well I didn't get any slip at all and the cape turned out great. I finished thawing thinning an mounting as normal. The skin seemed to stay hydrated longer when taxing the skin with stop rot applied. I didn't even once have to pick up a spray bottle. I was just remembering this because I am looking for a place to hang the ribbon that the mount won since I entered it as a competition peace recently. Thanks Glen!

Keep your Mad Scientist hat handy. I just replied to another post in the bird category, but this info also applies to mammals, and I'm waiting on some photos from a longevity test on fish. I'm starting to feel like I'm going to run out of longevity before we get all the possibilities figured out.

Was it already tanned?

You said you applied it to a wet-tanned cape? Once it's tanned, there should be no bacteria present causing slippage right?
