Recomendations on a Caribou outfitters

Submitted by Joe on 6/5/06 at 8:39 PM. ( ) 68.225.98.166

I am looking for some recomendations on Caribou outfitters in Quebec. I would like to hear of anybody you or your clients have used and were impressed with, reasonable fees would also be a plus. As with most things you usually get what you pay for. I am trying to put together a trip for about five of my top notch clients and myself, so I need to find someone reputable. Thanks in advance for your responses.

Club Chambeaux. Best hunt I've ever been on. Check out their website. Worth every penny. They're in Northern Quebec.

One NOT to hunt with

18 months ago I hunted with Nunami Outfitters. I think they are out of business now - and NEED to be!

I did kill a good bull but it had nothing to do with the service or quality of the outfitter. I would never recommend them!

first go on line and check out the migration patern.
then locate an outfitter in that area.
I've booked caribou since 1982 in Quebec, plus all over the world.
Club Chambeau ( sells a caribou hunt ) NOT A TROPHY HUNT )
Jack Humes , Safari Nordic are in the proper area ,and you would be hunting the largest caribou , the leaf river caribou.
Need help call me at (705)476-0483

The most important thing to find out is if the outfitter will fly you to a different camp if there are no caribou in your area.

Some say they will move you but don't. Some offer a reduced price hunt for another year if there are no caribou in the area.

A caribou can be a very expensive adventure. Spend a little extra and go with an outfitter that will definitely move you to another camp if needed.

Give Mirage Outfitters a look...

and remember...if there are no caribou in the area and you outfitter won't move you, you just spent a lot of money to look at tundra.

club chambeau ( will say ) that they will relocate if their is no caribou. NO CARIBOU the guides will always say they sean even a calf.
That is a caribou , It cost $2400.00 to fly a float plane from Sheferville to the outpost camp., you don't realy think that they are going to send a plane to relocate you ,then send the plane again to flight you out, and make no profit ( I don't think so )

Mirage is under new management and good for late September or the winter hunt.

I went with club chambeau and and we killed 18 caribou for 9 hunters we missed the migration and still did good because they moved us where the caribou were some outfiters won"t do that unless u pay them extra also jack hume is really good i think those are your best bets
