Here's a frustrating one, took in a fresh longhorn steer, large one with 30 + inches of horn on each side. Steamed one side pretty well, and twisted the horn off the core, OK no problem, yet. Steamed the other side and when I twisted on it the core broke off about 7 or8 inches down inside the horn#!$$$##! Look's like there was an injury or a defect in the bone core.
I've been soaking the inside of the horn and core, hoping I can get it to come free as it rot's, stinks BAD, but not loose yet. Dried it out enough to bondo and foam a 3 ft piece of 2X2 into the core 8 or 10 inches, so I could get some leverage when twisting. So far still tight as can be. Got me kinda stumped, Any Suggestion's? Thank's Darroll

wait three weeks - throw horns away and eat bag - sorry that was a duck recipe - leave it hang in the sun and it will fall apart
