Blue Wildebeest Horns...How to fix?

Submitted by Keith on 6/27/06 at 1:18 AM. ( ) 71.146.26.4

I have a set of Blue Wildebeest Horns that were left out in the hot sun in Africa, they are dried up with cracks and they look very rough, My question is how can I get these looking good again so I can use them on a mount?

Thanks Keith

I was at a seminar where the instructor painted elmer's wood glue on a dried up set of nyala horns, then rubbed some dirt on them after the glue had dried. Looked very natural when it was done.

You can even texture it so you will have the same grain as what the real horn has.
Comes in several colors & is stainable & sandable.
You can get it at Walmart or Home Depot.

Also works great for seam & fix work on African skins.
