We have a chance to do our first Bighorn sheep and I looked through the archives and didnt find any info on the methods used in skinning or mounting them. I would imagine there would be some differences but didnt find any on here. All I found were posts on how to remove horns. Any other suggestions would be greatly appretiated.
Thanks in advance.

Forgot to mention we have been doing deer, elk, ect for 4 years so we are still pretty new at this. We just dont get Bighorn sheep in much and we want to do a nice job. Not many second chances in this game if you mess up.
Most taxidermists new to wild sheep put the horns on the mannikin wrong, that is they tilt them to far forward and high on the back and then everything from then on is down hill for them bad. On most bighorn forms I cut the eye socket in half off the form and I use a very sharp ax to trim the skull away until it fits very close if not touching the form near the back bottom of the horns depending on the ram. If its a Montana or Colorado bighorn I think the Research Lancaster forms are the best, if its a Montana ram the Kish McKenzie are best. You are welcome to call me for help if you want when the time comes. I mount around 25 Rams every year, this is year 32. www.jamesmarsico.com
