Looking to purchase a mini flesher. My question is are these designed to flesh the hide after skinning it off the head? Or is it designed to shave the hide after the pickle?

Both. You can do both with it. Some will disagree but if the blade is set at the right depth, it will shave the hide and thin. The only problem here is, it does take longer with a mini flesher than the eager beaver. I have done both and cut the skin very thin. Yes remember the mini flesher cuts not shave. It has a small circular blade that cuts.

Jack,
All of us at Buckeye Mannikins use the mini flesher. We use it to flesh the the cape before we pickle it AND after we pickle it. Also you can flesh clear out to the eyelids and lips with it. Not to say you can't with other fleshers, but just to let you know you can with the mini flesher. Thanks, Heath
