NEED HELP WITH BLOOD STAINED ANTLERS!

Submitted by Lynn on 12/15/99. ( ) 205.188.208.107

I have a set of antlers brought in early bow season that still had some bloody tissue on them from the velvet not getting rubbed. I soaked the horns in warm water and got the remaining tissue off, but the horns are blood stained in some areas.I was thinking of bleaching the complete horns and restaining them. If any one has delt with this or has any suggestions, i would greatly appretiate it! thanks!

I use hydrogen peroxide.( not sure if that's spelled right) I just take an old tooth brush , pour a little peroxide on the antlers and scrub with the tooth brush. ......Heath
