Walrus Tusks

Submitted by Brian Young on 6/17/99. ( young@sullivanarena.com )

I have a pair of Walrus tusks that have come loose from the skull,
what is the best type of glue to use to secure them. Also how can I
get them appraised?

I guess I take a hit for being a dyed in the wool epoxy guy, but if someone tells you to use dextrine on this job, I'll be shocked. Epoxy will secure the tusks permanently, so if you have other plans (and permits) don't use it. I suggest a clear epoxy paste. Paint a thin layer on the tusk root and into the cavity. Insert it and position it before it hardens. It'll be there for your great grandkids.
