I was wondering if you guys had some idea's you could shoot my way. I want to do something different than mounting my divers on drift wood, but it has to be very simple. since i've never seen a diver standing on a log, much less anywhere else, im having a hard time being creative. i dont want to try any fake water since im a newbee, just really sick of drift wood.
any help would be great,
Thanks, Patrick L

mount a duck as if he was wing locked feet out and getting ready to land attach 20lb. mono to his back and hang from ceiling
Just finished a diver up not long ago. You can mounted them on driftwood that hangs on the wall. Put the wings slightly out to the sides and the head straight down as if they are diving under the water to get something. Get you some clam shells and put at the bottom. THis will give the look as if the bird if diving under the water to get something to eat.
I either purchase or make my own rocks for the majority of my diver mounts. Check out my web site there should be plenty of examples. I just did a blue bill for my buddies kid and used a birch tree trunk sawed in half the long way. It may not fit well with a blue bill but the white back ground looks pretty nice we thought.

John,
Your ducks look very nice. I like your pair of blue wings and also the pintail taking off. on your mallard and red head did you run your support wires through the breast of the bird or just from the base through the back?
We have a variety of artifical rocks that people have bought for various duck and bird mounts....check out out catalog

Thanks for the compliments. I run the wire through the breast.
