water scene

When creating a water scene should I paint a base coat of color prior to pouring the artificle water on to the base,and if so what color should I use?Thanks for the help.

you can purchase resin pigments from some of the suppliers. Add this to your resin prior to pouring.


base coat

I was taught that in water scenes in wooden bases that you paint the base a dark color like black , it gives the illusion of depth to your water. I've toyed with the idea of putting a mirror on the base and pouring water over that for a reflection , like an ice fishing hole. good luck Paul


Dirt or sand

what about putting down sand or even some dirt instead of paint prior to the pour would that give the same effect?
