painting water

Has anyone air brushed the top of a Polytranspar water pour? I made a shallow pond and for some reason it looks like there are shiny crystals that formed on the botton. Now it almost looks like ice. Can I just paint the top with Polytranspar water base paint and have it look half way decent? Thanks in advance.

I think George means that WASCO sells them in packets. And he suggest that you send them some money, and they will send you a packet of coloring for the artificial water.

Jim there are 4 or 5 different colors in the pack

Then you can mix and match to get the color of "water" you want. If you want the water really dark, paint the base you're pouring it on black or dark blue before you make your pour.

Thanks

I'll try your suggestions. To handle the problem at hand I mixed a little acrylic paint (black, brown, green) and addded it to a little resin mixed it and poured it over the top. So far it looks pretty good. I'll see what it looks like after it sets. Thanks again.

You cant do acrylic & resin.

It sure seems to be working okay. I read someplace in one of my habitat books that you could use acrylic paint.
