a polyester resin? It doesn't say on the can nor in WASCO info. Was wondering because Lary Goldman in his book "How to Create Water and Ice" suggests using acrylic paint for tinting what he calls ployester scenery resins. I tinted with acrylic paint but then everyone says not to use it. I keep waiting for something bad to happen to my water but so far it looks okay.

I use acrylic paint in it when I'm making artificial eggs. I use dye in it when I make a water scene. BP

Becky, why do you prefer dye for water instead of acrylic paint? Thanks for the response everyone.

I like the dye better for water scenes because it only tints the water and doesn't affect the clarity. I'm sure it can be done with acrylics. The only experience I've had with using acrylics is making egg yolks, and it's great for that.
Don't know if that helps you any or not. It's probaly like anything else, what you learn with and are more comfortable with. Have fun. BP
