I am about to attempt some landscaping, and I am trying to creat an octagon island with presure treated wood edging. If I have a 5 foot radious how wood i figure out the length off each peice and the degree off each cut? please help

Look on the web under octagon layout calculator. It is very simple
all you need is on measurement.
type in "cutting a octagon for flower bed", and you will find more than one awnser to your question. Strange that this gets ask so often on a taxidermy web site.
This will give you the angles to set your saw.

360 divided by 8 = 45 degrees angle between sides.
Remember that it takes two pieces joined to make that 45 degrees; so the angle cut on each piece is 22 1/2 degrees.
