water tacky...solution?

Submitted by James on 7/19/06 at 9:19 AM. ( ) 4.252.231.144

I did a water pour yesterday and it is still slightly tacky. The amount of catalyst used was properly measured and the resin was mixed well. I don't want to spray on a top coat because I will lose the luster. I tried surface cure on earlier pours and it always gave a slight "haze". Even when used in lesser amounts than instructed. My question is can I use an acrylic brush on clear coat to help get rid of the tack? What would work better, enamel, acrylic, laquer, etc? I appreciate any pointers. I am a newcomer to taxidermy and especially water scenes.

If water has cured for a couple of days try a 2 part epoxy like Envirotex. This should solve your problem.

thank you
