Octagon...finally

You hit the nail on the head.
For months, I've been listening to people talk about 22.5 degrees as the way to make an octagon. No one ever mentioned that it was off 90, so I kept trying and found that 68 was darn near the best. But I still had this 22.5 in the back of my head...FORGET IT.

Use 67.5 and it is DONE.

Skipped basic geometry class huh? How does 68 degrees make an octagon when 45's make a square? If you set your mitre to 22.5 than it DOES make an octagon...an octagon does consist of 8 sides right?...22.5 degrees x 16 cuts (2 on each of the 8 pieces) = you guessed it...360 degrees.

I did mention that in one post. 67.5 deg is 22.5 off of a 90. Sounds like you got it!
