Im doing a bear for a client and looking for some ideas for the habitat. All client told me was rocks and moss. Any suggestions? Has anyone ever hunted bears in Canada? I was thinking about ferms or something to add some color.

Todd, I have hunted bears. as well as other game throughout Canada. In areas where I hunted bears. there was plentiful birch and poplar, as well as alder and ash in some areas. You might want to adorn some of your rocks with lichen, as it grows on rocks in much of the north country.
Ive done bears before but never was satisfied with habitat, Have you ever seen ferns or some kind of green plant that would look natural? Thanks
Todd, if this was a springtime bear, and one most likely taken at a bait, keep in mind that in the north country at that time of year, green pickings are still pretty slim, hence the bears' willingness to come to bait. If anything, maybe grasses would be appropriate, and if you did use ferns, maybe you could cast fiddleheads to represent ferns in the emerging stages. That's just a thought.
giving you much information to go on if he wants any more than rocks and moss. Maybe he doesn't know exactly what he wants. It depends what part of Canada he shot it in. Mountains, poplars, evergreens. Canada is not the same landscape coast to coast.
What is email address Todd? I can send you a picture of a bear mount from Canada. How do you post pictures on the internet? Anyone know?
You guys are all right, I called client and asked about terrain again and he did mention pine cones and some grass but said that I could creat any type of habitat that I wanted so I guess its not big of deal to him. oh well, but because the client is now residing in Florida I cant just have him stop by and see if he likes whatever I do come up with. Ill just use my own judgement. He is in Canada right now and will be stopping at my shop to pick up mount on the way back home in about 9 days so I better get my but to work! Thanks guys, and Mike, my E-mail is robit@comcast.net
old fire pit, and half bury some rusted Labatt's cans around it. maybe an empty box of Macintosh hard handy. If you dont have any empty Labatts cans, I am sure you can get some volunteers to help you empty a couple. sorry, just a little bored, good luck EH!
Sounds like a pretty accurate habitat. A universal one that can be used for any province.
Todd, I live in Ontario Canada, black bear capital of the world.
You can call me at (705)476-0483 and I will explain to you how to build a scenery with most ,rock and small brush
Very easy , and fast to do ,
who responded. After I drank the Labatts and looked at the piture Mike sent, I came up with some cool ideas! The more I drank, the more ideas came to mind so I just kept on drinking. Now I have to decide which idea is best! Thanks Laurier, but I think I got it now.
