..registration.I'm sorry, but lately too many immature brats have been posting garbage( take ratkiller or mike). Its ruining this site, its starting to look like a typical internet newsgroup, minus the pyramid sceme posts and porn posts. If you want to post, you should be registered and your email and name available at every post.If you don't want to post, you can read posts and not register, but to post the moderator has your real name and address in case you get out of hand.Shame makes people shut up in most cases, and who wants to post juvenile comments about mounting beavers for instance when their name and real email are in full view? This system works well on other forums. This site has been so bad lately I do not even want to read most of it anymore.

forgot my email
I'm sorry deerwoman i do not want a hall monitor. some are out of hand but others have good opinions and dont want to leave a name. mabe even you have thought of that from time to time
ezy to do
about posting an email address and name on every post. Sometimes I like to anonymously "ride" you folks and that way I don't look like so much of a jerk! But, I could see having to register and acquire a login to post. Whereas "guests" can go on as "guests" but can't post until they register. This way Ken would have an easy way to reprimand anybody if they're out of line. It may even make his job easier as he wouldn't have to spend as much time "babysitting". But then again he may have to spend more time dealing with passwords, etc... I don't know what's involved on the maintenance side and I'd sure like to keep this site free so that anybody can get on. I like the idea deerwoman (write that on your calender, today Marty agreed with somebody!) but maybe not to the extent you suggested... Email at the very least should be an optional choice of the postee...
I think this will be a good idea people are starting to be afraid to post here, because the fear being disrespected. I have notice that many times that I post a question I get several emails from people who are giving me an asnwer but they state that they will ratther send me an email becasue they don't want to be have a hard time in the forum, that is sad, and I am sure that many of you have had this situation happen
Is just totally ignore the butt headed responses that we know will be there, and just go on with business.
After being ignored for a while, these fools will tire of it.
and time is money!
I would like to get rid of the real negative, foul additions, too. But when someone wants to jump in with no name to just give a good hearted but anonymous zinger, its still fun to wonder who was the culprit. (like Marty mentioned) Thats NOT the same as the personal attacks. You know, the guys get after me for being bald, but dont say just who they are, thats not mean, in my opinion. Now, I get in here and speak my mind, leave a discriptive name like coward, and those who fit the term get to apply it, yet Im told Im an embarrassment, and a name caller, and Ive posted MY name, so you all knew it was me regardless of registration. I guess I just wish that those who dont get it would go elsewhere, and the negative or frustrated would hold thier tongues. We could never control this site, is my point. Ken couldnt spend that much time anyways. I do agree with all you have wrote on this post, but doing it is another story...
Bill, You're bald?! I thought that picture of you just had a bad sun glare....Good greif the world is now in chaos.
Sorry Bill, I had to throw that in...Anyway, I think you are right. It would be a futile and exhaustive effort for Ken to try and regeister all of us and monitor us. Yes, it does get under the skin when personal attacks get flung out ( except fro bald jokes ) when the honest truth is..you guys deserve the upmost respect and admiration for sharing your knowledge. i guess it all boils down to people needing to just grow up, well not entirely, but you know what I mean.
Ken already knows who we are as our TCP/IP address appears each time we post an answer. It doesnt matter what we write as a name, that address identifies us just as social security number does.If you want to know who wrote an answer, write this number down and watch for it to appear somewhere else in the forums. Then the culprit will reveal himself or herself, whatever fits.As for badmouthing Bill, I dont, simply because I cant find anything to call him that hasnt been used already...lol. Have a great season..JL
We have more in common than I thought! I still think a login to post is a good idea. You could still leave an anonymous post. Only the website administrator (Ken) would have access to name and email address. This way, if any rules are broken the violator would be easily tracked by Ken. And, I don't think it would take all that much effort to set up. A program would take care of the logins/passwords, etc. and I personally think it would be less work on Ken's part to police the site. (But then again I'm pulling this info out of my a##!)
We could always suggest it, but would most people prefer a setup like this? And, if it were relatively easy and not very costly, would WASCO take the time to make the "improvements". What do you folks think? As is or refinements?
The IP address that is posted is only fixed with an open cable or DSL connection. Random IP address numbers are assigned when dialing from a modem such as AOL, etc. So tracking somebody is not that easy. I've already searched the archives on certain I.P. addresses trying to expose somebody and on each occassion duplicate I.P. addresses came up for another user or users. That's how I learned that these numbers change each time a modem user dials up. That's why smart-a##e# like myself (with cable connections) have to watch what they say (ha!).
Deerwoman and R.W. happen to have the same number assigned on their posts above. Either a coincidence or Deerwoman or RW is skitsophrenic (sp?)!
sorry marty but one of us is better looking .dont want to say who, becouse i dont want to piss her off and start a fight. hehe
Does this format need change? I've only had a decent computer for a little over a year and these last few weeks have had a lot of "losers" posting junk. Is this normal for this forum to occassionally go through this? Have these anomolies (Trekky talk) happened in the past? Have you ever seen a grown man naked? (Yes, I've been back to the fish carving again!) And, RW and Deer Woman are going to have to send pic's - lol!
First, I usually don't post my e/m because I just don't want to take the time. That 4.7 seconds is $$$. And Bill, I'm kinda in the same boat with a slick spot on top, but I assure people that I do believe that if the Lord lets me live long enough, I'll part this world with a full head of hair 'cause as I see it, the stuff has been migrating off the top of my head going down the back of my neck. Thus far its moved all the way down, under and is working its way back up. To date, it's as far around as my nostrils and my ears. Won't be long before I start seeing new growth on that aforementioned slick spot. LOL
You wouldn't know if I'm drop dead gorgious unless you met me LOL.Maybe I should get a hold of a scanner and scan my old college pics, now then I was drop dead something! If I lost another 30 pounds as I am now, you guys would be drooling more than you would with any Hooter's girl. But be careful what you try to do, I might put a 330 conibear over your head or snap a fox trap off on... you know.At the very least I'd pour skunky lures on you LOL.Anyone for mink musk too?
Because of the burgers! Stef, did I ever tell you the story about catching reds in 220's? Got 11 that year...honest, I have pics to prove it!
Were these cubby buckets for coon you caught them in? I'm sure it wasn't, but that would be nice, becuase I'm going to be doing that soon down at the streams.
Will you go out on a date with me?
I promise to not tell any beaver jokes...
