I just tried dealing with Wayne's Taxidermy in Roseville, MI. I have no clue what kind of fumes this guy is smelling but he is obviously disturbed. If anyone has dealt with this coconut and had a tough time please let me know. All I need was to buy a Pheasant form and eyes for a last minute project. I didn't have time to order these things. I called the guy and said he would sell them no problem. I went to his house (shop) and he barracated himself behind the door and told me to go away or he would call the police.
Most of you are probably think, What? That's what I'm thinking. I have no clue why this guy is so paranoid to open his door and talk to me, let alone do business.

Call me at (1-800)843-3320 ext 105 or e-mail me at this address.
I know everyone wants to know what Dave told me. I will not go into detail of our conversation, however we both agreed there probably isn't enough ventilation in Wayne's shop.(know what I mean)
Anyway, Dave from Vandykes was an absolute pleasure to speak with. He is very kind, very informative and has a great sense of humor. I never ordered from Vandyke's, but you can bet with guy's like David Belanger working for them I won't hesitate to pick up a catalog and order from them in the future.
Thanks again Dave for the Information and the other stuff regarding the "Danny Owens Series" . (You know what I mean) Yes, taxidermy friends there is a little secret in there none of you will know.
The bottom line is,we're all just Taxidermists out here, not GODS! WE SHOULD ALL BE STRIVING TWARDS THE SAME GOALS! To be the very best that we can be in the field and to provide the best service to our customers as possible. And maybe the most important of them all is to keep learning so that we all can continue to up grade our skills.
The majority of the taxidermist out there are are good folks, and have the right attitude and are more than eager to help their fellow taxidermist at a drop of a hat to help them achieve this goal.
Un fortunately.....there is the minority that will not, thinking that there is an alteareor motive in your asking of their help.
A form of PARINOYA sets in,or maybe its pure selfishness.I gues that I'm realy not sure what it is.It does'nt make them a bad person, so dont get me wronge! Some set better examples than others. Some are more giving than others.Thats what make us all individguals and keeps us on our toes.
We're all so fortunate to have people like your selves out there that are so giving of your time to help those in need. This Forum is a wonderful tool to provide such help.
How else are we going to continue to learn if no-one out there is willing to help? Joining our state Taxidermy associations is another great tool out there to grow and learn. We all can learn much from the seminars they offer. At these functions, all the taxidermist are more than willing to share their skills with each other. But when they walk out the door, they become tight lipped until the next meeting. I have personally whitnessed it.But it is always the minority!
So to you....the Majority...I aplaud you!It does not go unnoticed, especialy to the one you've helped in some way!
Have a wonderful evening everyone!
I was e-mailed last night by Kim Owens, she read into my post and thought something was wrong with the "Danny Owens Series" in conjuction with the wacko I originally was talking about. That is not the case. Dave from Vandykes was telling me how great Danny's bird bodies are and he gave me some pointers that I didn't want to share over the forum. Basically he's doing me a favor and I didn't want to tell everyone what it was.
So to clearify everything. Wayne's a nut case, Dave from Vandykes is great, and I can't wait to try the "Danny Owens Bird Series". Kim, if you are reading this I will e-mail you with the results of my frst mount using Danny's series to tell you how I like them.
Most Excellant Mon!
