... My little heroes stole the show! Who saw the commercial for EDS.com? If you did, then you KNOW it went over like GANGBUSTERS in our home! :)
It opens with a bunch of young men, dressed like it is time for the running of the bulls, in Pamplona, Spain. But, as soon as the gates open to release the "bulls" ... a herd of squirrels comes storming through the gates! Guys were running and falling, just like when they run with the bulls, except here the squirrels were also jumping on the runners! It was hysterical! I love the ending line: "As long as I have legs, I will run with the squirrels!" I can relate to that! :)
We're not football fans, but my wife found out there would be a possible "squirrel herding" commercial shown on this years broadcast, much the same as the "cat herding" commercial from last year, so we were waiting for it, and I had a tape recording it in the VCR. I'm glad I caught it ... it was worth the wait!

those werent squirrels! those were, TREE RATS! LOL!
I saw it, and you better BELIEVE I thought of you! LOL! I kept hoping I would see you... arms raised, with critters tickling, braiding, and nesting in those beloved armpits of yours! I guess we will all have to wait patiently for "part II"! ;-)
I am rather tickled myself... knowing that you and your wife saw it, and taped it too! Bonus!
I'll drink to that!
I think they said a 30 second spot cost 2.4 million for this Super Bowl! ---- Tree Rats are definitely moving up in this world!
Those stiff white guys saying "what is up?", the WASSUP parody. Thats my style of twisted humor.
Yes, that was really good too! My stepfather had no idea what it was about though, as he does not watch much TV at all. I can understand that.
However, there were several commercials that - no matter how hard we tried - we just could not make sense of them! We were not drunk either! Hummmm ... maybe that was the problem ......
I did really like the RED, and then BLUE commercials. What were they for? There were a lot of different products depicted in them. Can anyone shed any light on this? I thought the first one was for Coca-Cola, but then realized it couldn't be......
I was truly inspired by the guy that did paintings with his mouth because he had no limbs ... it brought tears to my eyes! I am very tenderhearted.
I really wish everyone well! :-)
JB...just wondering if you set your "little ones" up on the endtable next to you and Cheryl, in Barbie Doll furniture, with a little bowl of peanuts and those little plastic mugs of fake beer to watch the commercials with you?! And did they too enjoy it?! LOL...mental image I had!
You do have pet squirrels yet don't you?
The above title says it all. While I never "dressed-up" my pets in Barbie type cloths, I did have little hats and sunglasses for them. They didn't like wearing them either! :)
Even had a miniature set of Whitetail antlers for our male, Elliot. Now that was cool looking! A picture of him wearing them made it into the end of a Whitetail deer head mounting article I did for Breakthrough way back when.
The old ads for selling my references used to feature Sissy (my female) and Elliot (our male) in various hats involving different ad ideas! One had Sissy wearing a sort of Sorceresses hat, gazing into a crystal ball, while another had Elliot donning a squirrel-size pair of Raybans, and holding a miniature saxophone ... a "Blowing our own horn" deal. Fun stuff!
And they always were rewarded for being so patient with me after these goofy little photo sessions. And yes, I miss them dearly!
I actually thought of you when I saw that commercial John! I loved that one, can't say I cared for the half time show though.
I think it was the first game I watched more than a quarter of all year, and being an admitted Bengals fan (now you know why I didn't watch any) I loved the outcome just because I knew how pissed all the Browns fans were!
I also liked the one with Bob Dole when you thought he was doing the viagra thing. Lorrie, was that artists named Stubby? Just kidding.
Bob Dole is stubby!
