Took the horses out to set 17 snares today. The farmer had put down an old cow, (had cancer eye) That was a week and 1/2 ago. The coyotes have been having a field day there. Looks like they had quite the party. Well I got on my riding horse and lost the lead shank to the pack horse (my daughter riding horse) he said thanks and headed home, not to the truck. So there I am ripping across the snow covered feld trying to grab the lead shank. Fortunaly the pack horse does not have the staying power of the guy I ride so 2 miles later I catch him. The ride back to the truck and trailer was much slower. The farmer close by has seen 9 coyotes in a pack so hope to clean them out. They are looking great this year.I'll let you folks know how well the trapping turns out. Weather forcast for our neck of the woods is snow and blowing, and cold by Thursday.-19 for the high.

I admire you guys up there in the north that withstand the cold and snow! Me, I got up this morning, put on some shorts and a t-shirt and headed out the door for the truck. Rolled down the windows and enjoyed some wonderful florida weather on the way to work!
Let us know bout them coyotes come out though. Im interested in getting a nice winter coat one from up north somewhere. Im sure they look better than the scroungy old things we have around here!
Just think if the stories you can tell your granchildren one of these days. Its things like that, that make life interesting and wonderful. Hope you are successful with your trapping.
Caught me a 25lb Tom bobcat this morning...been doing good on the reds too...check out my trapping pictures from last year..I pretty much stick to snares but do some leg holds...

I know this is a little off the subject here but, Everyone I know who's grandparents and Parents for that fact tell them how they had to walk 5 miles to school in the snow with old old shoes with holes and stuff......................That must have been one heck of a size school house.
I haven't figured out how they fit so many people in the same building, cause I guess everyones grandparents went to the same school? LOL!
have a great day!
