A light bulb. Saw John Rinehart do final fleshing around eyes once on a video a long time ago, and have kept burnt out bulbs for that purpose ever since!

When I first started fleshing around eyes, nostrils, etc., the bulb method was a psychological prompter (that if I pressed to hard I'd break the bulb), and taught me control in final fleshing.

Make Your Own.....

.....Minature fleshing tools out of different size hardwood dowels and 1 X 2's. The light bulbs work. but they always seem to break at the wrong time, trust me on this. By making your own, you can customize the tool to do the job the way it will work best for you. All it takes is a good belt sander. Hard maple is the best, but you can use a lot of different woods.
