I honestly can't belive someone can be married to a teacher and not learn or no anything. I should not have ben surprised that you would use race in your post talking about our soldiers but your disgracfull attempt to do so is a slap to those who make up the majority of both those serving and those being killed. Thats your party..The other problem with your assertion is that even those Minorities serving come from Middle Class working groups from Big cities and tend to be both educated and Republican. According to your stats there are less blacks in the military than the national average which is 12%. Anyone that has been in the military knows better than that. Were you ever in the military? I have my doubts now.
Here's the real truth: "Since the mid 90s, Blacks have made up almost 22 percent of our armed forces' total enlisted. There are roughly 17 percent in the Air Force and Marines, 30 percent in the army, 18 percent in the Navy."

''If anybody should be complaining about battlefield deaths, it is poor, rural whites,'' says Charles Moskos, a military sociologist at Northwestern University in Illinois.
When Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., called recently for the return of a military draft, he evoked images of inequality raised during the early years of the Vietnam War, when black soldiers died at rates much greater than their share of the U.S. population.
Though Rangel is right that blacks and lower-income Americans still serve in disproportionate numbers, that fact misses another significant trend. While blacks are 20% of the military -- compared with 12% of the U.S. population -- they make up a far smaller percentage of troops in combat jobs on the front line.
In a host of high-risk slots -- from Army commandos to Navy and Air Force fighter pilots -- blacks constitute less than 5% of the force, statistics show.
Blacks, especially in the enlisted ranks, tend to be disproportionately drawn to non-combat fields such as unit administration and communications. They are underrepresented in jobs shooting rifles or dropping bombs.

I've been talking about the number of blacks and minorities in the military and you went off on a tangent about how many blacks are in combat. Why is that? Couldn't make as good a case sticking to the number of minorities in the military?
I still say your combat assertion is misleading though. But I won't call you liar. Considering our latest wars consist of a lot bombing with aircraft which need pilots to fly them, and as you say few pilots are black, it's no wonder more whites are in combat. I would say that would affect the overall stats wouldn't you? Duhhhhh!
Furthermore, combat has been over since our fearless president landed on that aircraft carrier right? I mean he did emphatically say "Mission Accomplished right? So all the latest deaths can't be listed as combat deaths right?

Blacks leaving the democratic party? Not many I can assure you, especially after being disenfranchised in Florida during the last presidential election. I guess you haven't see the news lately? We finally got the documents to show the republicans used a list of felons to keep other blacks with the same last name from voting. Pretty sad. The number of black folks that were turned away at the polls would have easily put Gore over the top.
