Is Trufitt related to Research? I just got their catalog and noticed a lot of similarities.
Another question, are these Lancaster mulies they sell the same as the ones he does for Research? The reason I ask is i think the eye set is way off on the Research ones, but the rest of the form is perfect in my opinion. I was wondering if the eye set is better on the Trufitts.

Same forms.I believe,if I'm not mistaken, that Dennis Middleton-Co-owner of Research, owns Tru-Fitt.That's why you see a lot of the same forms.
Jim is right Drew.
Guess I will avoid their mulie forms them. I am still on the hunt for what I think is the right form.
The truefitt forms are new forms and are worth a try,you will like them.I think they are the best muley form out there.
How is the eye set on the newer forms? The Lancaster's from Research were not pitched forward enough, and not pitched down enough. And I do not want to take the time to reset every form before mounting.
these have the same eye set.
I dont have a problem with the eye set at all.
Are you using their first honest eyes? bacause I think Bill made his forms to use these eyes.
Good luck, Roger.
ps I have tried other eyes but the first honest eyes look best.
I designed the catalogs for both Research and Trufitt (that's why they might look similar). That's where the similarities end. Research does not carry any of Trufitt's forms and vice versa. They are completely different companies.
If they are different, then why does Trufitt sell Research videos, Research skull plates, and a number of the same identical products?
Roger, I just used the standard Tohickon 220's. Another friend of mine who is a seasoned taxidermist brought up the wrong eye set even before I had complained to him about it. I think the eyes are too far angled towards the sides of the head. They need to be pitched forward and slightly down. I think the McKenzies have a nice eye set, but the form profile is wrong.
Just give them a try, dont use too much clay.and use the honest eyes.
I have mounted hundreds of muledeer and used all the forms out there & can say we now have some muledeer forms that equal the same quality as the whitetail forms that are out there.
i will give them a try.
