...I did send another state record caught by a customer to a commerical supplier of blanks and it was a bad experience. I was promised two blanks and he backed out and only sent me one. He also took much longer than he promised.
In retrospect, and after getting a phone call, I was probably unfair to the mold supplier. Although I was promised 2 free blanks to mold the state record musky if it was 50 inches, and it was indeed 50 inches when it was live and on a measuring board, I do believe it probably was less then 50 inches when measured by the mold supplier probably due to freezing, dehydration etc. Therefore to say he backed out is unfair.
And of course as taxidermists we all know things can take longer than expected etc.
So I apologize to that mold supplier for putting my foot in my mouth.
