Iraq Revisited

Submitted by HOSS on 2/18/05 at 3:34 PM. ( )

I'm headed back to the sandbox again. Word came down this morning. No details yet but looks like March. This will be my 3rd trip. Went in GW1 and at the start of GW2 now back for a 3rd time. Hopefully this next tour won't be as dicey as the first two. 3 more years and I'll have my 20 and out of the reserves. Hopefully this time I can avoid most of the lead slinging. I feel like I have used up 8 of my 9 cat lives. I am bringing my luck boots with the RPG fragament still lodged in the heel from the last trip. I'll hopefully have access to the web....if I get lucky....and will keep you guys posted.

I can honestly say I know how it feels. I was there the first time around myself Desert Shield and Desert Storm. So take care and watch your back. You will be in our prayers.

I can't imagine going once let alone making a third trip. Was a kid in the 60's and too old by Desert storm so no experience at all. You have earned a great deal of respect from me and I pray for a wall of hedges and a shield of angels around you. God bless.

I'll keep a sharp blade and my front sight wet! Maybe we can get this thing over with and get back home soon. Thanks for all the well wishes.
