Black bear chest patch...

Submitted by tomdes on 4/19/05 at 10:12 AM. ( )

I just completed one of Georges favorite black bear poises, half mount, open mouth, paws out (reaching for a garbage can no doubt). But I want to see if anyone has attempted to even up the white-V patch on the chest. It is fully developed on one side and just 2 little chunks on the other side. This is the way it was when it came in. Has anyone played hairdresser and whitened a strip black bear fur with the whitening creme or is it best to leave it alone? Thoughts?

Yes you can "even up" the V !

Most of the time we just leave the "hair color" alone as this is about as natural as you can get. We have dabbled a bit on evening out the sides for a "V" or other design. At times, we have even changed the color of the entire bear! But that was a major pain however, it turned out nice. Just use simple hair coloration changes as it is used with people. Yes it works!
