Nice and quiet forum lately, huh? Your thoughts why?

Submitted by Kim on 4/21/05 at 5:19 PM. ( )

It is interesting and note worthy that for the last couple of weeks, it has been somewhat nice and quiet on the forum. Not too much fighting, bickering and.....not that much politics.

I wonder why? (I know why). What are your thoughts on this miracle?

Yes, It has been boring!

This response submitted by Tidbit on 4/21/05 at 5:50 PM. ( )

Not hardly worth reading anymore. Guess I'll have to go back to watching paint dry. Or I could roll myself up in a rug. Use the internet to find things to do when bored!
Guess I should get back to work, but might give these a try. Quick someone start an argument on here before, I go insane......

Push your eyes for interesting light show
(Amusement Potential: 1-5 minutes)
See a variety of blobs, stars and flashes. Try to make out things your subconscious is trying to send you a message? Can you control what you see by pressing different areas with different forces? Would it be possible to somehow see the same effects on TV?

See how long you can hold your breath
(Amusement Potential: 4-20 minutes)
Not that much fun, but it sure passes the time. Play with a friend, or try to beat your own personal best. Some tips: hyperventilate before hand, and stay as still as possible. My personal best is 2:00 (exactly).

Try to not think about polar bears
(Amusement Potential: 1-5 minutes)
This is especially hard, because by trying too much, you remember what you were trying to avoid thinking of. If you try too little, you end up thinking about polar bears anyway.

Scratch yourself
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
Go ahead, scratch yourself now. Even if nothing itches, go ahead. Doesn't that feel pretty good?

Repeat the same word over and over until it loses its meaning
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
Pick a random word out of a magazine and say it aloud to yourself until it becomes a meaningless set of noises.

Hurt yourself
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
What is pain? Why is it unpleasant? There's nothing physical about it - it's all in your mind. Plus, after pinching yourself for awhile, boredom will seem nice next to being in pain.

Try to swallow your tongue
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
There's not much to say about this one. It is possible.

Pretend to be a car
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
Make appropriate revving noises in your head as you walk along and add a racing commentary as you pass strangers in the street. Use blinking eyes as indicators for extra authenticity.

Look at something for awhile, shut eyes, study after image
(Amusement Potential: 2-5 minutes)
Another great time waster. It takes about 30 seconds of staring to create an after image, and the image is then viewable for about the same length of time. Fun to combine this one with pushing on your eyes.

Whoa, 1st try! Do I get a kewpie doll, or what? I was going to insert a name or two, but I didn't want to get 'em all fired up.... Get'r done!

Several reasons...

This response submitted by marty on 4/21/05 at 9:48 PM. ( )

WTC took many away.

Fish guys are busy - and we all like to stir the pot.

And, kids are back in school, so we're not in a "pissy" mood anymore (although only 6 more weeks and they're out for the summer - YIKES!)

it's not as active as it has been(such as campaign-time)but,

This response submitted by Griz on 4/21/05 at 10:25 PM. ( )

i wouldn't say it has been "quiet",--- we've hashed out religion(the pope's death and papal authority), politics(terri schiavo), taxidermy and ethics(the judge issue), etc....

You wouldn't be trying to stir the pot and get someone to throw out some names, would you?

cause the main reason is mostly because it's springtime and we have been cooped up all winter and instead of taking breaks at the computer you step outside, or you bypass the breaks altogether so you can get done sooner and do outside stuff.

I am sure it has nothing to do with someone running for a position with the NTA. Anyone else notice he is being very helpful lately and not yelling at the newbies?

That was a inspiring statement! BTW, I agree with your post.

Happy Earth day from the melting North Pole. I just finished a globally warmed breakfast and wasted a gallon of gas. As you all are aware replica's are much better than skin mounts and reqire more talent to make.

As soon as the Republicans finish draining Salton Lake, I'm going to take my four wheel drive gas guzzling H2 Hummer(named after ex-wife) shell hunting in the desert.

The most a skin mount is worth is $10 plus the supplies from WASCO, since any kid can do one with a kit from Gander Mountain. Which reminds me I saw five "kit" boxes while going through George's trash. One was a paint by number fish replica by Cecil( no his parents don't sell bread) Baird.

Terry Schvaio called and wanted Tom Delay's phone number.
Britts are killing a baby and Tom Delay hasn't said a word. Guess he's too busy counting PAC money and opening kickback checks from Halliburton.

Oh Well It's a beautiful Day in the neighborhood.

is their a iceburg union

This response submitted by paul e on 4/22/05 at 1:07 PM. ( )

they must have to join a union

Don't like a post, don't respond

There is no validity in complaining about repeated questions from newbies. If you don't like the question, don't reply. The only reason you probably clicked on the topic is you were bored anyway and just killing time surfing the net.

did you hear of the new organization
