Ebay Buyers Beware

Submitted by RJ Simington on 4/29/05 at 11:31 AM. ( animalartsnw@charter.net )

Again there are people in Africa that are advertizing skins for sale on ebay & they are only charging about $15. for shipping. Then they are sending the skins US POstal service.
BE AWARE , This is not a legal way to import animal skins into our country.
They are going around customs & USF&W, & USDA all together & if caught you could be the one to get into trouble.

As per a conversation with an Agent with the USF&W Enforcement in Portland Oregon, If you are caught importing animal skins without going through the proper procceedures & paper work filed, You can be fined, Loose all permits & never be able to import animal parts into the USA again, Also you will probably be raided by the US Customs, & USF&W & any animal parts from anouther country that you can not prove came in through customs WILL be seized & you will end up in FEDERAL COURT.

Dont fall into a mess of trouble just because someone else is doing something wrong.

MY 02
Glad to see these points brought up for everyone to see. The bad thing is that WE have to go through such a mudpool of laws anyway that someone is bound to make an innocent mistake sooner or later and then have to pay for it for the rest of their life.

We need to cut back on these BS laws and regs! Some are needed but most are burdensome to everyone.
