Ken Walker

I was really taken back by your post declining the judging position at the Michigan Show. Just because you oppose Jan's views and opinions on the NTA makes it justifiable for you to break the hearts of the other 279 members that make up our association. How sad - the majority of these members never even compete at a national or world level and have never had the privilege of sitting through one of your great seminars or sharing time with you over their critique. How truly sad to punish the great members of our association because you are angry with one individual. I sure didn't recall our association being involved in this feud - and I am appalled that you would judge our association and it's members because of Jan's views. I was honored to have the time to talk with you at the World show about your Irish Elk (though you probably wouldn't remember me anyway) but the time you took to talk with "little old me" meant a lot. To think of all of the great people in Michigan who won't have that opportunity now just absolutely infuriates me. I apparently got the wrong impression of you when I spoke to you. Thanks for breaking my heart Ken.

Dawn

P.S. This is strictly my own feelings and I am not or would not ever speak for the MTA. And to Jan - no offense was meant toward you in this post - I was just making a point to him.

I'm sorry too that Ken thought what he said was an equal way to get back at me for saying what I said about the NTA. I like Ken and he is very talented. If he is speaking from his heart as did I then I don't chastise his actions. We will surly get somebody else but sorry it won't be you. I hope this makes you feel better,Ken.

What I do get is that at least the females use their names. Like George always says only "cowards" fail to stand behind their posts with their names...............

Why, so you can attack me too? You wouldn't know me anyway. Just a general observation......

I for one am not one of those people on here who Attack anyone. But my response to Ken is valid. He posted that he would not come to our show because he is upset with Jan - well then his fight should be with Jan - not bring it into our great association. He is trying to hurt one person by bringing down 279 other people who are not involved in any way. I am not involved in the NTA fight - I have no knowledge of it and truthfully I can't keep the whole scenario in order. Like cramming a seven day miniseries into 2 hours. Too hard to keep up. But I for one have not attacked anyone - and you surely don't know me or you would know what kind of person I am - and your general observation about me is wrong. Opinioned I am. Hurtful I am not.

And I am just expressing my views to Ken that his actions have hurt me and I am sure many other members once the word is out. And even if I did know you I wouldn't attack you - not my nature to be mean like others on this site.

My comment wasn't directed at you, sorry. It was directed at Sarah and Jan. It looks to me like the calmer heads are using logic, where the opposing view appears to be driven by emotion. This is from an outsider looking in. And a general observation....

I think it's ironic that Tom McNeal is a hero for attaching personal opinions to a business transaction, but Ken Walker is demonized for doing the same thing.

Two wrongs don't make a right. As for Tom I don't recall my ever saying he was a hero - And I was the one who started the post for Ken so I assume you are speaking out against me. Tom McNeal is the only one out on this - the NTA will move on without him - so his conditions only hurt himself. As for Ken's conditions - it won't hurt him or Jan (she can handle it) but it does affect the MTA and it's members. Because he punished all of us for the action of one person (and as I said - our association is not involved in this) - Jan VanHoesen is not the MTA - she is not an officer and she is not a board member and Ken wouldn't have to work with her in any capacity. She is just a member. And her opinions DO NOT reflect that of the MTA in any capacity. I don't see where the NTA and it's members have been hurt by Tom's conditions. As some of the board already stated - membership has not been damaged by this in anyway and the NTA will continue to thrive and move on. But how Ken decided to make this an issue with the MTA when the issue is with Jan is beyond my comprehension.

What post is this one regarding

Setting the record straight in Huntsville was the original post. Toward the bottom Ken Walker posted that he was pulling out of the judging for the Michigan Association and that he wouldn't attend any competitions in which Jan was a judge.

I'll bet it had nothing to do with you [dawn] and Jan saying; you were going to boycott the NTA shows?

The one good thing about all these posts is Their not about Ego's or jealousies; it's about business and friendships.

You should never assume what you read. I never said I was boycotting the NTA - Jan had asked me earlier if I was going to the Nationals this year - Seeing she had posted on the net when I was reading the updates I just answered her there. I have my reasons why I am not going and I don't see why I answer to you but you are very wrong in your assumptions as to why I wasn't going. And I never said I was boycotting the NTA............The Air Force always taught us to never ASSume as when you do you make an a## out of you and me.

Um, Dawn, you were saying about assuming....

Nope, mine was a more general comment, because there IS a lot of lionizing of Tom McNeal, without whom the ship will sink. I am clear that you are not the one doing the lionizing. That's why your name wasn't in my post.
As you said above, you know what happens with assumptions.
