Had A guy call today wondering what these are worth:
8x9 34in. wide shoulder mount mule deer
5x5 36in wide elk horns on a plaque
7ft. grizzly rug
7/8 curl dall sheep mount
58 in. wide Alaskan moose horns on a plaque
sholder mount caribou - not sure how big, not a dbl. shovel
All was mounted 25 - 30 years ago and is in excellent shape.
A guy (scalper?) offered him $1500 for all of it and I told him it was worth more than that. Anybody got an idea of what it would be worth? Thanks for your time.

......You shouldn't have told him it was worth more. It looks to me like he was offered a fair price for stuff that old.
Dale, it's not worth anything unless you find someone who WANTS it. Most hunters don't want someone else's trophies, but those that do pay whatever the market will bear. If no one else offers him anything, he's gonna be pissed at you for not taking the $1500. (I wish the hell I was as good today as I was 30 years ago. I doubt those mounts are any better off than I am. LOL)
and none of that is worth anything to me, nada, zilch, zero, capoot. For the reasons mentioned above, not my kills and the fact they are so old they are deteriorating badly by now. would have to have new capes put on or rerstored ( neither cheap) to be salable. I`d a grabbed the 15 frog skins and run if I was you.
If you don't know what they are worth, why say they are worth more than $1500 ?
One thing is the quailty and the care. While you think you have a fortune maybe the "scalper is you!" Maybe what you have is not worth much more than pieces and parts for tying flies and knofe handles.
Maybe the are so insect ridden you better just one the high price.
You can pick up alot of mounts for $1500. take it or leave it.
