I spoke with Cindy this morning-She and Greg are well, and coping as well as can be expected with limited services. They still do not have telephone or internet service. All communication is via cell phone.
Cindy asks that I post the following :
"If you are planning on sending donations, ie,food, clothing, materials, etc, DO NOT send to Archie Phillips or Al Holmes. Send
to NTA headquarters, as UPS has their delivery service up and running in Slidell. She wants to thank Archie and Al for their generosity for
providing shelter and vehicles after she and Greg evacuated their
home. Thanks also go to the many un-named people who donated to the Katrina relief effort".
The Outlook is being mailed today, and your copy should arrive in a few days. For mail service in the storm affected areas, bulk mail is not a priority, and you may or may not receive your copy anytime soon.
This Outlook was ready to print around Sept,1, but due to Katrina, is running late. The next issue of Outlook will be ready to print in 2-3 weeks, and will be mailed as soon as possible.
If you are joining or re-newing your NTA membership, or just have a question for Cindy or Greg, please be patient. Cindy has to drive several miles to a public library to access the internet, and may not be able to get back to you as quickly as you want. Be assured, all emails will be answered when internet service is restored.
