I wanted to see if any others had experienced this situation. I normally will order my supplies off the web, But the other day I guess this particular supplier that is probably the biggest one out there. They just seem to be rude when taking your order. In the last to times that I have had to place an order by phone the lady was just rude as could be about it. I wanted to tell her that in this line of work, There are alot of people who believe in attention to detail, and that precise measurements are key. So when you just ask to confirm a size, You would think that they would be happy to help. I guess that they just want you to order of the net. And the get ticked off everytime that phone rings. Who knows... Any thoughts or similar instances.

In the line of work YOU ARE IN, attention to detail IS important. In the line of work the lady you spoke to is in, getting the specific form you're requesting is important to her. When you order a specific number form, more than likely, her computer screen is telling here it's a semi-sneak, left turn. She's not working off of a catalog, she's an inventory specialist, not a taxidermist. That's YOUR responsibility to insure that if you order an XYZ form, the CATALOG lists it as being a 7x22x24. When you ask her, you distort her comfort zone and she has to look it up on another screen. She probably deals with a different customer every 5 to 10 minutes for 8 hours a day. She's likely frustrated that she could have made her company "x" more dollars had she not been tasked to research your form. She makes money by selling forms, not sizing them.
Probably shark week . Call back in 4-7 days . Everything will be butterflies and roses !
Is just that time of the month you know, they all go about the same time together.
So it is a bitchy week LMAO
Why is it all you do is argue here?
Obviously this person in the call center does not have a masters in physics or she wouldn't be making $7 an hour answering a phone. She has one job, help the customer and hit enter.
..whether you care much for George or not, he is right. Most companies have people to take orders, period. Some are actually not even employees, rather a service that takes phone orders. Some just dont have the means to answer questions, either. The guy that made this post makes a good point, a little bit of personality would go a long way, but Georges reply is still a valid one.
People like you wouldn't be happy no matter what I said. There was NOTHING negative in anything I said there, only to explain to Edward how his perception might be misguided. Strange you never mentioned Alex or Coot here, don't you think?
People just like you have whined so much that the NTA now has a policy for all ELECTED BOARD MEMBERS that if they hurt the tender sensibilities of people like you, it can be grounds for dismissal from the board. Well, tonight, I was elected and tomorrow night I'll take an oath that a person with any honor (like I feel I am) will take seriously and I won't be here that often any longer. It's just a shame that the world is filled with people like you with a terminal chip on their shoulder and the penchant for rose buds up their butts. But I'm not concerned about people like you. Like Bill Yox, I answer many private emails on advice than I ever give here. I'll help anyone who has an honest problem - even if it HAS been answered here in the archives. And if you ever manage to grow up and need help, I'd even help YOU if you needed it.
You argue and ridicule more people's opinions in this site more than anyone.
Why is it so hard to believe that Edward was a nice guy when he called and the lady on the phone wasn't? If she doesn't like her job she should quit. So you guys have never asked the lady at a taxidermy company a question? I had to ask the lady at Van Dykes a question because the website gave different measurements for a form than the catalog did. And she was helpful. What a concept, customer service.
And why would the NTA make a policy from guys like me? I am not even a member because of people like you.
No need to "George Bash". He is right on this one and anyone with any Common Sense at all can see it. If you need questions answered you don't ask the girl taking orders, you call company support. But if you are just trying to verify a form size you need to go by whats in your catalog.
It's for me and I'll contend with that. If one person can cause you to spite yourself, that's a rather sad commentary. Don't worry though, the NTA will fight for you anyway. Your peers will just have to pay the freight for you. This is a battle none of us can afford to lose and right now, the NTA is your last best hope.
Don't be so dramatic. What battle are you talking about, are they goind to round up all the taxidermists and send them to the middle east? Put down the weed, it is making you paranoid.
CWD, mad cow, CITES,USDA, APHIS, none of those things are a concern of yours, are they? No melodrama. Just common sense which doesn't seem to be that common anymore. And all because you looked down your nose at the "lower class" person who answered the phone to take a simple taxidermy order.
I have a suspicion you called the toll free number. If you have technical questions, call the regular office number, they will be more than willing to help you. As stated in many catalogs, the toll free number is for orders only.
Not sure how I ever got along before I ran into your loudmouth on the internet.
I'd like to give you another reason to join the NTA. What if you recieved 10% off coupons from many of the suppliers, tanners, base makers, skull cleaners and other taxidermy related suppliers that you could save hundreds of dollars just by being an NTA Member? If you spent just $500 a year on supplies you would pay for your membership. If you spend more you earn more. We need you to be a member, and taxidermists need the NTA. Join us, you won't be sorry.
