Here is a link to the photos of the Major Award Winners from the National Taxidermists Association Convention last week. These are the photos shown on the big screen during the awards presentations at the Saturday night banquet.

It may be just my perception, but

either the West has the only good taxidermists in the United States, or other states must not have sent any good representatives. In the long list above, only three taxidermists were east of the Mississippi River, and just barely so in Wisconsin. None of the original 13 colonies must have attended.

Too far

To drive from the east coast you need a 2 week vacation. Wifes not going for that with 2 kids. It would cost a $1000.00 in gas there and back with pick up/trailer if not more. The hotel costs, eating out every day is to great an expense for 3 days. Wife says a few island trips first before a taxidermy show that far away, driving wise.

The wife and I was there from Mass , plus I know of 2 from NY and 6 from NJ and 1 from NH. The NJ guy had his wife and 2 kids and drove out.
Paul
I hope you have the supper dishes washed and dried and put away before you read this , I wouldn't want you to get in trouble.

I think it's all the fresh air and good life along the Rocky Mountains!

Rich...

I know Dave and family went, the only ones from N.J. that I know that were going, they are still young in my book, don't have the nerve to be stuck in a car that long. The World Show was far enough for me to drive from Jersey. Also flying doesn't count, no challenge in that, besides to ship mounts and meet them there in one piece? No dishes today Rich, pizza night. Your right on that one Ron, we will have a conga line comming down to KT.

It must be Wilson...

Trouble is that after you use all that clean air you send it east. At least being on the Western side of the state, I don't get the same air that New Jersey gets... I always add a little charm to it after a good meal of baked beans.
