They just keep repeating the same ones over an over unless they are real doozies like Katrina.

What happened to this hurricane season anyway? I know there's still time, but for some reason things are flat out there in the Atlantic. So much for predictions. I'm sure the people down there aren't disappointed though.

ITS THE END OF THE WORLD

It's simple

This year we didn't have Israel give up land and we are backing them on there war on terrorism against Lebanon. No really big disasters this year. jmop

Ditto on the rain here in DLG. BUT...

It is supposed to be letting up after today (Moose season opening!) so maybe the timing is good.

And as far as Kansas, my family is always reminding me that they would really like to have our rain... and our degrees as well, at least in the summer. lol

Wife called me in a panic last nite. She got home before I did and there was 2 rigs parked on our property next door, and looked like they were gutting a moose. I told her to drive by again, get license numbers, and call the troopers. To make a long story short, I didn't realize there is an early archery hunt in our vicinity. Troopers got 4 other calls from people who saw them tracking this wounded bull. 3 brow tines, just BARELY legal. Died IN the lake in front of the lot we own next door. They hooked it up to their pick-up and drug it up the hill, right in the middle of the fresh gravel I just had hauled in, in preparation for building a house for my son and his family. When they left, they even scraped up the bloody gravel and took it with them. At least they could've offered 1/2 a back strap...

I got to check

Those suckers

This response submitted by Crusty on 8/18/06 at 1:23 PM. ( ) 209.165.183.15

LOVE petunias for some reason. I'll be chumming them in next year. I tried putting out a carrot chum slick a couple years ago, leading into my shop. Calf would go right to the overhead door and stop. Sounded like a good idea at the time...

Please send some of that rain and cooler temps this way. We're going to dry up and blow away - again. Was 106 yesterday, don't even want to go look to see what it is today. BP

The raspberries

An early archery season... what a cool deal. And did I read you right: moose are fond of petunias? lol

I'm waging a personal battle with myself right now over just that issue (archery). In a perfect world, I'd never squeeze a trigger (strongly prefer bow). However, living where I do and not having a boat and (until this school year) having my kids, I have never had the luxury of a lot of time to bowhunt moose. This year I have a bit more time (my kids are with their mom) but it's still not a lot (drat being a school teacher anyway!). I am really wanting to ignore the gun and take to the woods with bow. My wife, being of the more practical sort, is trying to be supportive while sticking with her mantra of "Gee a freezer of meat sure would help." lol

Oh that all life's problems were so difficult.

I have this eerie feeling you right ,Kim

I hope I dont have to shave that one. Its a real pisser when sparks start flying from your knife. Kinda like hyenas. I think they digest rocks, and leave them in their skin!

Kim's been talking to God again; Were's in trouble!
