How are you going to preserve this tree?

EJ, did you read that post about "stupid questions"?

LMAO

Obviously you don't understand Dr. Z and "trees". The ones he uses are ALREADY preserved.

Nope, I missed that one George.,

I was going by what he said, (Lucky I had some young strapping boys to pack it off the mountain after I cut it.) I didn't know they could grow trees that would live after being cut? I know your just trying to look after me George. Thanks, EJ

I suspect the tree Dr. Z was after stopped living a few hundred years back and was found on some desolate canyon wall someplace. The piece he used on the cougar at the NTA would have been beautiful with nothing mounted to it. It was a knurled and gnarly log of solid cedar or pine heartwood (we call it "lightered" in South Carolina or "light wood" in North Carolina or "fat wood" in Georgia.)

The tree

This response submitted by Dr.Z on 8/23/06 at 7:38 PM. ( ) 70.98.89.172

stood un a windswept ridge for centurys. It has been dead for perhaps eighty years. It is gnarled and weathered the growth rings are tight giving clues to how it struggled through drought and bitter cold winters. But alas this monarch is mine. And any who wish to see it will get a chance in Reno.

OK George

sorry to say there won't be any perch attached to it.Did you and that other fella get a time and place figured out for your showdown?I had to go coon and tree hunting and missed the end of all that trash talking. You gotta admit Marty was in rare form though.Am I still gonna have to put up that hundred for the winner or is Reno too far for you to drive?

No Phil
