i have done some deer and have a cat to try the customer said any pose will be fine so i wanted to do one that might not be to complicated - any suggestions are appreciated and thanks in advance ,James
i did my first cat in laying pose with the feet back up under him- what a nightmare. if you do a walking or jumping pose i think you may find it less frustrating.whatever pose you select you will have to cut the form into several peices to insert it into the skin-the fewer peices the better. WARNING- this is not a deer, this will take a while! good luck- scott
poses are the easiest of the L/S stuff to work with. It's gonna be a real chore for your first one without complicating matters by one of the more difficult forms. You won't be aware of that unless you do one first or ask it here!
Listen to Scott. Great advice there and he mentioned something that absolutely had be all confused when I did my first bobkitty. In order to get the skin on it's got to be cut somewhere. Some folks whack off the head, others whack off a leg, and still others cut in down the middle.
If anyone knows a way to get the skins on without cutting the form let me know. I'd like to hear it!
Good luck!

Will,
Here's a way to do it, even though I wouldn't do it that way. Just do a ventral cut and cut all the way down each leg. Slip the face on the form and everything else falls into place. Now you have a ton of sewing, but you don't have to cut the form. LOL. I almost always do a dorsal cut and cut the form to get the hide on. Obviously, it's easier to cut the form and re-attach than to do all that sewing.
Could'nt you do a dorsal cut and slip the form in the hide feet 1st. Never done one, just asking.
you could do as you said but you would have to cut the head off the form and than reattache the head. depending on the size of the skin and the form, it could get kinda tight getting the head back in place!
