Can someone tell me what I should use for backing on a bear rug, on the outside of the padding? Also what can I use on the backing to allow for hanging on the wall, and where should I locate them? Thanks
I use 1" batting for my rugs, you can use anything from 3/8 on up. Then after the batting is done you sew material to the felt to cover up the batting.
Now to install hangers just get regular hanger,there called the economy hangers. You will sew them to the feet and one on the base of the rug head.
I use round plastic curtain rings found at any Walmart or sewing center. Sew them under the chin, front leg, middle belly area and back leg and hang on a wall. Hope this helps. Dave
