Fox Squirrel Mannikin sizing

Submitted by Pat on 1/5/02. ( spmmhickey@aol.com ) 152.163.189.133

I have a Fox Squirrel to mount. It is my first squirrel. (Only other tax. I've done is a deer head which turned out pretty good for a rookie). The dimensions of the squrrel are 13" x 7 1/2". I plan on ordering a beginners kit that allows me to pick the mannikin. I cannot seem to find a mannikin (standing erect) that fits these dimensions exactly. Any suggestions on what size to order and how to alter to fit?

Forget the kits. McKenzie and several others sell the John David Ellzey line of squirrels. If they don't have your size, it because they didn't market it. John David HAS ALL SIZES in the poses you want. A good manniken will make al the difference in how your final product looks.

Hi Pat, Flynn's Forms ( 1-800-878-9373 ) have a good supply of squirrel mannikins to pick from. The anatomy of the forms are very good. Try them.
