Hey guys
I am in a tight spot right now.... I had a person call and offer me a bobcat which was just killed. (ran over) I would love to try this but am just now getting into taxidermy and don't have much time now to check the archives (temp outside is warming up fast) Can I freeze this cat whole or how can I put this up and work on it later? I am filtering thru archives as we speak but thought I'd post with this and see....
Thanks a bunch

or skin him and freeze him, just make sure to get all the air out of the bag......or skin him and flesh and salt him....tomorrow shake off the old salt and apply new salt and leave until hard....either way it should be fine til you get to it......good luck
I usually freeze all of my mammals before skinning so they are cool to start with.I freeze a couple of days and then thaw and skin. But I am a lillte slow.If you are a fast skinner then I would do it warm because they are alot easier to skin.
I got the little guys double bagged and in the freezer. I was caught off guard with this. I am just beginning to learn and had a friend called and had a bobcat. I wanted it but didn't have time to skin and prep it. Thanks for all the help and KNOWLEDGE....
