i am going to be doing a muskrat for the first time and i wondered what needed to be done in order to preserve it before putting it on its mannikin. do i just scrape the fat off and degrease like a bird? I would appreciate your help. this will be my first life-size mammal mount.

Do yourself a favor and order Rittels EZ 100 tanning kit. It is $19.95 from WASCO and it tans about 20 lbs of skin. You could dp but i wouldn't. i tan everything including mice.
