I have a request from a client to clean an artic fox that was mounted over 50 years ago. Where do I start? What will work? What's the easiest method? What's the possibility it will fall apart.

You may have a mess on your hands here. First off wear a respirator and gloves. The mount may contain arsnic and that's what your dealing with here.
Van Dykes carries a product called mount brite. This works well on cleaning. I would do a small test spot first and then work in small areas. You have no idea on what will happen to the mount and give no guarantees.
