On the feet of a relaxed pose cat the claws would not show;
but I have not liked the results I've gotten in the past by
trying to pack the toes with clay and then push the claws back
into the foot.
Would it work better to remove the claws(like Roger Martin did
with the Bobcat in the new Breakthrough), and if so, what is
the best method to accomplish that?
Can they be removed with side cutters like the bobcat claws were?

You guessed it. simply cut the claw off close to the knuckle and push them back into the clayed toe. However, I prefer to remove them entirely by trimming around the knuckle from the inside.AND I leave the dew claw alone since they are often exposed some what.Leaving the dew claws also shows a hint of the cat's hidden arsenal.
NO DON T DO THAT !I WOULD USE CLAY FOR IT AT LAST YOU WANT TO ?
