What do I do with a cat before bringing it to a taxidermist?

My mom's cat died. She is on vacation. I have no money. How should I preserve the animal until it can be brought to a taxidermist. Right now I have it in my freezer, and that is very gross. Please give some advise so I don't feel so grossed out when drinking ice water.

Make sure you don't share your drinks with your lovable little furball.

What are your mother's plans for this cat?

If she actually wants it mounted/preserved then I would recomend you keep it in the freezer until you or she can take it to the taxidermis. Simply make sure it is well wrapped on a plastic bag. If she wants it cremated or buried, then the taxidermist is not the place to take it, though I would still leave it in the freezer. I'm afraid you'll just have to be grossed out for the time being.
By the way, if she does want it preserved, I hope she's ready to spend a goodly amount of money and do some searching to find a taxidermist that will take the job.

I agree with hermann!

Jared, if you can find a taxidermist that will do it, talk to them and see if they'll store it for a spacific time till you can get the money.
When people ask me to do pets, I tell the $2000.....I haven't had to do one yet.
Now Jared thats because I don't want to do pets...if you shop around, you may find one that'll do it for substacially less.
