I just recieved a beaver, and was wondering do you skin the tail or do you buy a fake? Thanks.

I asked a similar question and was told the tail will shrink up to nothing. I would cast one or buy a fake.

Next time you get a beaver, if you don't need the tail try this.
Skin the tail from the back side, and carefully skin out. Use a piece
of plywood cut to the size you need. After you have salted and tanned
the leather wrap it around the board and staple the seam down. This method worked for me, remeber it depends if you will be showing the whole tail.
