After reading in the archives and getting a lot of information on how to replace or glue whiskers into the proper position, I determined that there had to be an easier and more efficient way of getting the rascals to stay in place until the mount dried.
The method I have come up with not only works great, but it also saves a lot of time because you don't have to remove whiskers, glue them, or babysit them while drying. Take a piece of tape - I suppose just about any kind will work, though I used a strip of duct tape and cut it in half lengthwise - and place a row of whiskers on it. Overlap the ends of the tape on the top so the sticky sides are together. Make sure they are evenly spaced and you have only the whiskers for that row. Now, pull the entire row forward to the position you would like it to dry in. Run a pin through the tape and into the manikkin to hold the whiskers in that position. Repeat with the remaining whiskers and let dry. Once the mount is dry gently slide the tape off the whiskers. Be careful here, becuase I suppose the whiskers could curl or pull out if you're not careful, though it didn't happen to me. Works like a charm!
