How long do most of you wait before you call your customers and say their mount is done? Do you wait until you think it has shrunk down all the way or call as soon as it is painted? Say 2 weeks or so?

I let them know their mount will be ready in "approximately" (may be before that time or a bit after, depending on what the cat drags through the door) two weeks, and I will give them another call when actually ready for pickup. Just to let them know what's going on, and to give them time to get their funds together. Works for immediate pickup eight times out of ten. Sometimes better.
I usually give my customer a "warning call" when the animal is mounted up and drying. This way they know that in approximately 3 weeks down the road they will get a pick-up notice and have a chance to get their money together. I wall them again when the mount is ready for them to pick up. My customers tell me they like being notified in advance, so that's what I do.
